Videos in class..

History of English in 10 minutes..

We chose this video because it's a fun way of learning. There is a lot of information in a short period of time and you have to pay attention. The narrator has a special way of speaking so you follow the action automaticly.
It's a animation film. This movie can be used in different age groups. In an english classroom, it could be used for any primary age range. Each age  drawing different things from the video. However in a country where English is not their first language, the classes english ability would have to be considered.

Experience: the pupils can learn from the content of the film; lots of facts. They can also learn how an animation film can be created.

Analysing: If the pupils are to analyse the movie they can try to figure out what makes it interesting and good even though no motion pictures are used.

Producing: It can be used as a inspiration so the pupils can start making their own animation movies. The pupils can make a movie about their own language history.

mr tumble. hello hello how are you?

This video can be used for both for content at a younger age or to analyse camera techniques for later on.

It is a short clip of a childrens tv programme in which Mr tumble communicates both in words and part sign language. This can be used to help children develop their awareness of diversity in people and also to develop a respect for those who may have a hearing impairment and may need to use other means of communication. For a young class it may also help children who struggle with using language as a way to communicate, allowing both them and other members of the class communicate with some key sign language. This may relieve frustration and increase toleration on both parts.
The video can also be used for an older audience. Theres alot of different camera techniques and different things to notice and analyse.
