Making all the stuff we need for our film....

Yesterday we started making all of the probs for our film. Got the script done and most of the probs. We didn't start filming.. We had a lecture about copyright and moral rights. In our film we use alot of different music and violate most of the laws. But it's okay, because we are not publishing the film and we are using it in a educational setting..

Videos in class..

History of English in 10 minutes..

We chose this video because it's a fun way of learning. There is a lot of information in a short period of time and you have to pay attention. The narrator has a special way of speaking so you follow the action automaticly.
It's a animation film. This movie can be used in different age groups. In an english classroom, it could be used for any primary age range. Each age  drawing different things from the video. However in a country where English is not their first language, the classes english ability would have to be considered.

Experience: the pupils can learn from the content of the film; lots of facts. They can also learn how an animation film can be created.

Analysing: If the pupils are to analyse the movie they can try to figure out what makes it interesting and good even though no motion pictures are used.

Producing: It can be used as a inspiration so the pupils can start making their own animation movies. The pupils can make a movie about their own language history.

mr tumble. hello hello how are you?

This video can be used for both for content at a younger age or to analyse camera techniques for later on.

It is a short clip of a childrens tv programme in which Mr tumble communicates both in words and part sign language. This can be used to help children develop their awareness of diversity in people and also to develop a respect for those who may have a hearing impairment and may need to use other means of communication. For a young class it may also help children who struggle with using language as a way to communicate, allowing both them and other members of the class communicate with some key sign language. This may relieve frustration and increase toleration on both parts.
The video can also be used for an older audience. Theres alot of different camera techniques and different things to notice and analyse.

Why do we use videos in the classroom?

Future:

There is a lot of different opportunities in the different medias teachers can use today; internet, phones, cameras etc. One have to use it because the society is moving in this direction and kids use the different medias a lot, both at home and in school.
It is a familiar tool to help the kids access learning. Todays society tend to have lower concentration spans, a video is a way to engage all kinds of children.

Opportunity:

As mentioned above, the opportunities are almost limitless when it comes to technology if used correct. We shouldn't use teknology just becase it's there. It should be uset as a way to enhance learning and solve problems. Video making can be used to enhance learning in all areas, it can increase cross curricular learning.

Visualisation:

Through videos children are able to visualise a concept often resulting in a better understanding then through just spoken work or text.
Visual learning may result in them remembering what they have learnt more so then if it was just explained.
Providing a cognitive conflict can clarify misconceptions.

Accessibility:

Children with barriers to learning such as dyslexia may find writing esays or extracting meaning from text diffficult. Through providing learning through videos these barrier can be overcome and children can access the learning.
Furthermore the internet can provide access to limitless information and resources to increase learning.
